Top exporters named in Queensland Export Awards

QLD premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and minister Cameron Dick have announced the finalists for the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards 2023.

Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and treasurer and minister for trade and investment Cameron Dick have announced the finalists for the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards 2023.

Now in their 33rd year, the Export Awards recognise Queensland businesses for their innovation, resilience, and determination, especially as they strive to grow and expand their global footprints.

The finalists were announced at a Queensland business Frosty Boy, based in Yatala.

Frosty Boy has been synonymous with quality, innovation, and uncompromising taste since 1976 and exemplifies outstanding international success.

Frosty Boy ships products to 65 countries and regions including high-growth markets like the Philippines, Malaysia, Middle East, India, Korea, USA and Vietnam.

“These annual awards recognise and celebrate Queensland’s exporters expanding and innovating internationally,” Palaszczuk said.

“Queensland exports high-quality products and services to every corner of the globe, known for their ingenuity, creativity and passion.”

Minister for Trade and Investment Queensland, Cameron Dick said, “It’s important that the dedication and ingenuity of Queensland’s export businesses is recognised through these awards.

“We want to help Queensland businesses navigate complex overseas markets and make it easier for them to go global to reach more customers.

“With its focus on innovation, Frosty Boy is a great example of what the Export Awards are all about.”

CEO for Trade and Investment Queensland, Justin McGowan, said, “The quality of goods and services produced by these businesses is confirmation that our state strives for excellence across a diverse range of industries that not only compete but lead internationally.

“Trade and Investment Queensland supports Queensland businesses to realise their export potential through our global network.”

Frosty Boy managing director Dirk Pretorius said, “Being named as a finalist in the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards is a great honour.

“Frosty Boy’s global expansion has been remarkable, our commitment to research and development has allowed us to identify trends before they become trends and quickly pivot our business accordingly.”
